Il corso si propone l'obiettivo di consentire allo studente l'approfondimento del linguaggio specialistico e dei relativi concetti giuridici attraverso la lettura di fonti particolarmente significative della regolamentazione giuridica del fenomeno sportivo nel mondo romano.

È prevista la propedeuticità di Diritto privato romano (12 cfu) o Diritto romano e fondamenti del diritto europeo.

Lezioni frontali e seminari dedicati a specifici argomenti del programma.

L'esame si svolge in forma orale. La valutazione, espressa in trentesimi, terrà conto della qualità espositiva e della capacità dello studente di operare gli opportuni collegamenti tra i diversi argomenti di studio. I differenti livelli di preparazione porteranno ad una valutazione: eccellente (30 e lode), ottima (28-30/30), buona (25-27/30), discreta (21-24/30), sufficiente (18-20/30).

Durante il corso sarà fornito agli studenti ulteriore materiale didattico.

1. Status sociale e giuridico degli atleti nel mondo romano. 2. La disciplina giuridica delle manifestazioni sportive nella legislazione imperiale. 3. Spettacoli pagani e festività cristiane nella legislazione postclassica e giustinianea.

Profiles of the legal discipline of the sporting phenomenon in ancient Rome.

The course aims to allow the student to deepen the specialized language and related legal concepts through the reading of particularly significant sources of legal regulation of the sporting phenomenon in the Roman world.

Student must have passed the exam of Diritto privato romano (12 cfu) or Diritto romano e fondamenti del diritto europeo.

Lectures and seminars dedicated to specific topics of the program.

The exam takes place in oral form. The evaluation, expressed out of thirty, will take into account the quality of exhibition and the ability of the student to make the appropriate connections between the different subjects of study. The different levels of preparation will lead to an evalutation: excellent (30 e lode), very good (28-30/30), good (25-27/30), fair (21-24/30), sufficient (18-20/30).

During the course, students will be provided with additional teaching material.

1. Social and legal status of athletes in Roman world. 2. The legal discipline of sporting events in imperial legislation. 3. Pagan spectacles and Christian celebrations in postclassical and Justinian legislation.
